FREE FAMILY CONCERT
IN WILLIAMS PARK

St. Petersburg, FL (March 15, 2006) The public is invited to a free family concert in Williams Park on Saturday, April 8, featuring Shattered Silence , a contemporary Christian group. Presented by Florida International Museum (FIM) the concert is held in conjunction with the popular FIM exhibit Ink & Blood: Sacred Treasures of the Bible.

“This concert is something the entire family can enjoy,” said FIM executive director Kathy Oathout. “Spirit FM, 90.5 FM will do a remote broadcast and we encourage families to come out and enjoy the afternoon.” Shattered Silence will perform from 2-4 P.M. and will sign copies of their latest CD at the museum immediately following the concert. Patrons are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets and to come early. Patrons will be given discount coupons for Ink & Blood, which is featured at FIM through May 14 th .

Shattered Silence is a contemporary Christian group that seeks to use its music to speak to a lost world. Their music is written with a message in every line and is presented in a new and unique style blending acoustic, alternative, and jazz. What makes this group special is that the band members range in age from 15 to 22 years, and they write all their own music. They have played in concert at venues across Florida and in Wisconsin , Texas , Tennessee , New Jersey , Mississippi , South Carolina , Georgia and Connecticut . Ink & Blood: Sacred Treasures of the Bible, is the world's largest, most comprehensive exhibition on the history of the Bible. The exhibit, which includes authentic Dead Sea Scroll fragments, ancient Biblical manuscripts and 5,000-year-old pictographic clay tablets from ancient Mesopotamia , will be on display at FIM until May 14, 2006. The unprecedented exhibit includes more than 100 Hebrew, Greek and Latin manuscripts and related artifacts.

FIM hours are extended for this special exhibition: Monday – Saturday 9 am – 6 pm; Sunday 12 noon – 6 pm; last admission at 5 p.m. (Closed Easter).
